Author Information for Declan BurkeDeclan Burke was born in Sligo in 1969. During the 1980s he worked as a labourer, barman and factory hand. After graduating in English Literature and Media at the University of Ulster at Coleraine in 1994, he joined In Dublin magazine as a staff writer in 1995, subsequently becoming editor in 1997. He has also edited The Big Ticket and Volta. From 2000 to 2001, he was the regular radio reviewer in the Culture Magazine of the Sunday Times. 'I have seen the future of Irish crime fiction and it's called Declan Burke. Here is talent writ large - mesmerizing, literate, smart and gripping. At last my hopes for crime fiction are renewed.
