Actress/writer Clark does her mother, Mary Higgins Clark, proud with these light, breezy stories. In truth, there are times I prefer these "fun" books. These are good choices for "escapists" who want to be entertained, but not necessarily challenged to the point of frustration. These books are fun, fast paced and have believable plots that are clear and direct. No gore, no gratious sex, just good humor and a main character that actually gets along great with her parents. The character relationships are good natured and humerous. I like that. In fact, sometimes it can be what I need to hear! These cat-and-mouse stories in a modern setting, with the easy-to-read dialogue and brisk action have characters you can genuinely like. Humorous rather than chiller thriller, these are for fans who enjoy Joan Hess and Lilian Jackson Braun.
