Aside form being set in the hippie culture of the 1960's, each was written by a different author. In "The Butterfly Kid" Chester Anderson wrote about how he and his "Sidekick" Michael Kurland saved the world from blue Crustacea whose plan of conquest involved drugging the world into chaos. "The Unicorn Girl" begins with a maiden in distress wandering into the Haight Ashbury district of San Francisco seeking someone to help her find and rescue her missing unicorn. In a quest that I would call vaguely reminiscent of Asprin's Myth Inc. books if it hadn't preceded them by 8 to 10 years Kurland and his assistant Chester Anderson once again save the world. In "The Reality Pad", book 3 in the trilogy Tim Watters has enlists the aid of Anderson and Kurland in the investigation of strange happenings in a Manhattan apartment building and they find themselves being transported through time and fiction. Once again the world is threatened by fantasy and it falls to our hippie heroes to save it. I doubt if you will be able to find any of these books. All are out of print. I haven't seen a copy of "The Butterfly Kid" of "The Unicorn Girl" in almost thirty years, and only managed to find a copy of "Reality Pad" seven or eight years ago with a nation wide search of libraries. I think even today "The Butterfly Kid" could be made into a great movie. Perhaps even more today than thirty years ago. Trevanion Jonsson
