Comment: investigative journalist
[4 stars] "Larkin's friend asks him to help find a junkie daughter, and Larkin reluctantly returns to London to do so. His mission takes him into some rough areas of London and some even rougher company. Sometimes his habit of wandering straight into trouble gets annoying, as Larkin reels from crisis to crisis and sometimes only pure luck rescues him. But I like the style and the characters. This also features the appearance of another writer's main hero, the policeman Christy Kennedy from the series by Paul Charles." - Luci Davin - RAM

"What can you say about a book that starts with the main character being literally nailed to the floor and then beaten nearly to death...and then things really get grim? How about "Wow"? This book is incredible. So dark as to be nearly into the ultraviolet, but I couldn't put it down. I finished it in an afternoon, it was that mesmerizing." - Dusty Rhoades - RAM
