I spent most of my life in Kansas City, KS where I was born. Was transplanted to
a small, small town in West Virginia about 5 years ago with my last husband. I
might add that Momma Pat still in Kansas is still not happy about the move. He
got custody of the dog in the picture, I got the cats.
Although I divorced hubby that brought me here, I decided to stay as country
life seemed to suit me better than city life. I remarried in March of 2002 to
Dave, the love of my life and also 11 years younger so he should be able to take
care of me when I retire or he may ditch me for a younger woman?
We live in out in the sticks with four cats, Sammy (aka Fat Cat, black 25 lbs.
who believes he's a panther), Stubbie (tailess manx male - which I am told is
rare. Should have been named Klingon as he sticks to me like glue), Goober
(beautiful tabby who does the weirdest stuff) and Baby (aka the lurker, mainly
black with a few white splotches, hides a lot and jumps out and bounces when
least expect, main hangout is the bathroom). We also have an abundance of deer,
squirrels, raccoons, oppossums, etc. but they stay outside.
I love to read and buy books. When not reading I get most of my entertainment
from RAM posts. I also crochet a good bit. We enjoy riding our 4 wheeler a lot
in the woods around here. There is so much more that you can see out riding thru
the woods than from the roads. The scenery is beautiful here even if the roads
are treacherous.
We also mainly hang out with our 80 some year old neighbors who believe they are
still in there 20's and are quite the bad influence on us. They really like to
party. If we aren't at their house sharing beers they drag us to the exciting
American Legion Post in town for beers and gambling. They can be quite nerve
wracking though and funny. Charlie can't hardly walk and uses a cane when sober
so it can get really scary when he is full of beer as it would probably take all
of us to try to get him back up if he falls and Jean usually winds up with her
wig a little sideways. She reminds me of the old woman in "Something About
Mary" and she still lays out in the sun in the summer to get a tan and
wears the loudest clothes possible.
I mainly read mysteries. (Leaning toward the gore section) Throw in a little
horror and some romance if I'm in a really weird mood but never do I stoop to
the Harlequin level no matter how weird I'm feeling.
My day job is as a secretary at a large fence company. Past job experiences were
as a loan officer and advertising specialty sales & secretary in the office.
