Jon
Jordan:
I am a white male between the age of twenty
and forty, average height and build. I am quiet and keep to myself. I am married
and get along with almost every one.
And no, I'm not a deranged killer, I just read about them. A lot. I love
mysteries and crime novels. It started with reading Batman. I eventually drifted
to fiction with out pictures when I was around thirteen. I think it was an Ed
McBain novel, one of the 87th precinct. I've been hooked since.
And it was this addiction to reading that helped me cope with an addiction to
alcohol. When I quit drinking, I started reading even more. And being the
obsessive person I am, I channeled my obsessive behavior towards books instead
of scotch ( and rum, and tequila...) I now own well over 4,000 fiction books,
mostly mystery.
I go to signings and conventions. I've also
taken this one step further and have been interviewing
authors. I also have been reviewing books now for a while.
Books, and mystery in particular have done some wonderful things for me. I met
my wife at Bouchercon, I have made friends all over the world who have a common
love for the books. So in my own small way I want to give back a bit by sharing
books I love in my reviews. And I am also trying to payback the authors a bit
byhelping people discover them, which is why I do the interviews.
I tend to read more hard-boiled stuff than anything else. I won't start to list
names, because there are a lot! I also do read other parts of the genre as well,
cozies, historicals, procedurals....I love it all.
If you would like to have me interview someone, I am open to suggestions. You
can e-mail me right from this site. Or if you just want to ask me about an
interview I've done, or a review.
Oh.... The one thing always in *my* refrigerator? Jalepenos and coke
