In this chapter I'll try to "lecture" less and make more snide
remarks. I promised thrills, skulls, puns, guns, and more. Here goes.
The Getaway: This book has one strange ending. Not my favorite read
(but whoa Nellie, you're in for a ride, thus delivering on the thrills portion)
nor my favorite cover but it does have a skull (I'm writing this on 27 Oct with
the "official" Halloween bearing down but locally authorized trick or
treating over at 4:00.)
Skeletons In Purple Sage: Another skull and you arty types might
see the house in the background looking a little skull like. There's a lot of
that in art and mystery book covers.
The
Affair of the Scarlet Crab: This title sounds like a science film from
high school. The cover suggests it might be 1950's science fiction. Something
tells me Clifford Knight didn't win a Pulitzer for this particular work (though
he's published and I'm not so more credit to him). But who can resist this
cover? Ok you all can.
Murder Challenges Valcour: This is what can happen to you if you go
after the Scarlet Crab.
Sin in Space:
The inevitable result is Space Police.
Ice Cold Nude: Chills usually go with thrills so. Also, now, I'm babe
covered.

Pearls Are A Nuisance: a lesser know work ( at least by me) but a gun
on the cover. I have
a Peter Gunn - TV tie in but no scanner so here's Elizabeth's (Five Card Stud). I live in Wisconsin, I've seen snow like this.
