Karin Slaughter's award winning book Webmistress Goes Wild is the start of a new
series where the ride begins in the small midwestern town of Clinton, Missouri.
Most serial killer novels feature a male killer. Ms. Slaughter has boldly
deviated from this form following the life and crimes of Vicki Jean. The story
begins as Vicki Jean is vacationing in Clinton, Missouri to visit family members
and friends. Suddenly her whole life seems to fall apart at the seams at the
beginning of the trip.
Vicki Jean is usually a reclusive Webmistress who rarely leaves her home in
California and spends most of her time on her various computers. When she leaves
her safe haven suddenly her whole life seems to fall apart at the seams with
this trip. Beginning with numerous car problems and delays on the road to
Missouri her frustrations and tensions mount. Her husband appears to be
blissfully unaware that she is unraveling on the road.
After arriving in Clinton the real trouble begins. After several hours with the
highly dysfunctional extended family, her husband, David makes the final mistake
that sends her over the edge and begins her cross country killing spree. After
Vicki Jean commits her first murders including her husband, she discovers that
she likes killing and it relives her tension. So she begins systematically
tracking down all of the RAM posters who have had the audacity to piss her off.
However, Charlie "Bird" Parker, private investigator and an ex-cop
with his assassinating partners Louis and Angel just happen to be in Clinton
fishing and were old friends with one of Vicki Jean's first victims. Thus they
are now on the case and are hotly pursuing Ms. Vicki.
Where will the tornado of violence end? How many RAMmers will die before her
violent spree is stopped? Will Bird and his buddies be able to stop this crazed
woman?

Okay I won't tell you how you died but I will tell you that Carol is quite
upset. She sent Vicki her hatchet right before the trip because it was believed
to be an expensive antique. Vicki was to do some research and try to
authenticate it and find out the value.
However Vicki Jean found another purpose for it in dismembering bodies and
dropped it at a crime scene as she was scrambling out the back door as Bird,
Louis and Angel broke down the front door. So now the police won't give Carol
back her hatchet as it is evidence.

In the sequel 95% of RAM have become gun toting, card carrying members of the
NRA. Piliki is quite shocked and depressed as she thought that she had raised
RAMily better than this. The current reads thread has drifted to Carol trying to
coach Piliki on Tough Love.
Vicki sets her sights higher with recent success at eluding capture and heads to
Washington to try to get the President.
Meanwhile Vicki Jean has holed up in another seedy motel awaiting more car
repairs on the grocery getter. She spent her time reading Jasper Fforde's
Thursday Next series and as she becomes more delusional, she believes she has
Ms. Next's powers and plans to drop in at Shutter Island for a visit with Teddy
and Chuck.
Due to rumors of her heading to Washington, Jaime has been deployed with a team
of special forces on a secret mission to try to bring her mother in alive
before she gets herself killed.

Missouri and out step Elijah Bailey and R. Daneel Olivaw to see what happened to
their friend David.

As it turns out he isn't really dead. He's been kidnapped by men in black suits
and is being used for experiments to create a super soldier. They have spent
nearly six million dollars making David bionic. He's better than he was, faster,
stronger, and types really really quick. Strangely they want him to move to
Austin.....and call him Steve.

ass," which is funny because her ass is bionic, "Just update the
database and keep your bionic opinions to yourself." Steve/David went off
in a bionic huff, causing skid marks on the hard wood floors. Jamie/Vicki smiled
and gave herself a bionic point.

If you can make it to Kansas City I will lend you my bullet-proof bra that I
wear while patrolling for Neighborhood Watch. I am sure we can also locate a
safe place for you to hide out here in Kansas City or if all else fails and you
have to continue to run we'll get you a car and some dealer plates from my
brother's car lot. There's also a pizza parlor owned by the mob not too far from
here - maybe you could set up in their office and continue your activities under
a different name.
There are all kinds of alternatives if you can get here. Take all the back
roads.
