Beef a la Larisa

(note: this recipe is my own invention; all amounts according to taste)

Ingredients: cubes of beef (like for beef stew), prunes, Portobello mushrooms, Chinese snow peas, a bit of garlic, cloves, salt + pepper, red wine (preferably a sweetish wine - I used Manischewitz), Chinese plum
sauce (optional), could also add other veggies.

Instructions: warm up the frying pan, slice up some garlic, simmer for a while.

Add the beef, and apply salt and pepper.

Brown the beef cubes on at least two sides. When they are browned, add a cup of water and a bit of
the red wine, and reduce heat.

Put in the prunes (it might be a good idea to cut the prunes into small pieces prior to putting them in; whole prunes are too big), and Portobello mushrooms. Add some cloves (again, according to taste), and a bit of butter (optional).

Cover, and let it cook for a while, until beef is tender. Add snow peas when it is almost done.
