Judi's Oakie BBQ Sauce
w/ribs

1 cup ketchup
I sometimes add 1/2 bottle of good sauce like Bulls Eye or KC Masterpiece
2 tsp rice wine vinegar or lemon juice I s'pose
2 T. balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup molasses
2 tsp. prepared mustard
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp hot pepper sauce or more, I like Pickapeppa for this
1 bay leaf
Lots of minced garlic, then some more, more garlic, less vampires
1/4 to 1/2 cup minced onion
1/2 cup water
1 tsp. soy sauce

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan, slowly bring to boil, stirring occasionally.

Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 min. Discard bay leaf.

Spareribs or country style ribs

Method 1:

Sometimes I use a rub, sometimes not.

Grill or broil, turning, high heat for about 15-20 minutes a side. It won't hurt at all if they get a bit black at this point. Put in roasting pan, cover w/sauce, cover pan w/foil.

Cook at 275 for 3-4 hrs.

Method 2:

275 oven.

S&P

Put in roasting pan, cover tightly w/foil. Cook for 2hrs. Then pour off most of the fat. Smother w/sauce, cover. Slow cook another 2-3 hrs.

Melt in your mouth!
