Black Orchid Party:  The Black Orchid Party was held on Tuesday, April 29th. It was a great evening for a cocktail party and both authors and fans were out in force.

Nevermores:  The next night was the annual Nevermore Awards at Partners and Crime. The Nevermores are a fun sendup of the Edgars with categories like "The Poetic Justice award for best use of Dante in the title". The actual Edgar Award Gala was held on May 1st at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Edgar Awards:  The Edgar Awards are presented by the Mystery Writers of America every
year in a gala ceremony in New York City. During the days leading up to the awards, the Black Orchid and Partners and Crime bookstores have special events to celebrate the occasion. I was fortunate enough to take part in all three events this year.
