Series: Maxi Poole # 3

This was my first Maxi Poole book and I enjoyed it thoroughly. Maxi is a local television news anchor with a bright, curious mind. She was assigned to the graveyard shift, a undesirabletime slot for a successful newsperson.

Mysterious situations seem to pop up around Maxi---her unlikeable neighbor is murdered, her housekeeper's son is kidnapped, and who is the man with the mole? Maxi seeks to uncover clues where and however she can, and with the help of a handsome, enigmatic freelance journalist, Maxi learns the nightside of journalism, gains self protection skills and may have a new romance.

I had problems with the ending of the book. No spoilers here. Maxi was one of Those Heroines who enters a Dangerous Place and the reader is screaming, NO Don't go there!! All the loose ends were tied up, a little too neatly.

All in all, I enjoyed this book as I couldn't put it down!
