Series: Templar Knights Historical Mysteries # 2

Templar Bascot De Marins escaped from the Holy Land and eight years later is now being sheltered at Lincoln Castle. Because of his position as a Templar Knight, he is sometimes called upon to decide upon to decide justice for the occupants and tenants of Lincoln Castle.

Late in 2000 AD, the residents of Lincoln are asked to host the first meeting between the King of Scotland and King John [of Robin Hood fame]. When a squire's body is found hanged, the castellan of Lincoln Castle asks Bascot to find the killer before King John's arrival.

Ash's book is a quite good historical mystery with not only a convincing sense of time and place but also with the characterizations she has created, especially in the character of the Templar and his soul-searching. Thoroughly captivating!
