Goldie is Pauline Sokol’s roommate and is a beautiful man or woman but prefers to appear as a woman. Pauline lives with Goldie and his friend Miles. When Pauline is assigned a case to investigate regarding insurance fraud Goldie steps forth and agrees to have a nose job done at the very expensive clinic Highcliff Manor located in Newport, Rhode Island.

Since Pauline was formerly a nurse she fits in easily as Goldie’s private nurse. Goldie gets his nose job and Pauline finally solves her case but not before she gets into quite a bit of trouble along the way.

The characters are humorous and Pauline evidently is pretty since she attracts a lot of attention but she also somewhat of a klutz. Just what you are looking for if you want a quick read with some mystery, romance and humor thrown in.
