The Body Farm in Tennessee is about one of the spookiest places to be found in the United States and not something that a tourist would enjoy. Dr Bill Brockton, anthropologist, founded the body farm and feels completely at home there.

Dr. Jessamine Carter is the medical examiner in Chattanooga. Bill Brockton is working with Jess on a murder that happened in Chattanooga and at her request has placed a body on the Body Farm in a way to represent the murder scene and help Jess determine the exact timing of the death. The murder was violent and the corpse posed in an obscene position.

Jess and Bill have become close and worked together on a number of cases. Flesh and Bone is a very exciting book that touches on many issues including child pornography, the relationship between Jess and Bill, and how a decomposing corpse can provide answers.

I read and reviewed Carved In Bone, the first book in this series, and Flesh and Bone is a wonderful addition to the series. One of Dr. Brockton’s mantra’s is “flesh forgets; bones remember”.

Dr. Brockton finds himself on the other side of the law in this novel. It is a very strange position to find him in and one that he does not easily escape.

To say any more than this would be a spoiler. You must read this exciting book to learn what happens to Dr. Brockton.
