I sure hope the editors took a good look at the construction of this story. I am not an advocate of the two sentence paragraph or the three paragraph chapter. The writing style in the first half of the book is rather choppy, and plotline development runs to fits and starts. The second half is much better, as if the author finally figured out what he was trying to say. I probably won't pick Mr. Bianco's works first when I need another book to read.
Horrific murders keep ending up on the blotter for Detective William Gillette. Unfortunately, his job seems to be more important than his marriage. One thing leads to another, and his wife introduces him to the mysterious Jonathon. Well, Jonathon "helps" people; not for cash, but for favors in the future. Then Mrs. Gillette gets fed up and goes back to her family. Things seem to go downhill in fifty directions for Bill, and Jonathon is at the end of every road. And the gruesome murders keeps right on coming.
