Ginny Lavoie left the small New England mill town where she was raised and goes to New York to work on with the NYPD. Now Ginny is suspended from her job pending an investigation and she is totally at loose ends.
When her childhood friend Sonya called and told her Danny, Sonya’s son had been violently murdered Ginny immediately returns to her home town to try to solve the mystery of Danny’s murder.
Nothing seems to have changed too much since Ginny left her home town including the fact that her old love Jimmy Griffin was not only still in town but the successful owner of a bakery. The funeral home where Ginny lived with her parents is still there although under different ownership.
As Ginny delves into Danny’s personal life she not only uncovers some of Danny’s secrets that she is hesitant to tell Sonya but she also places her own life in danger.
As soon as I read “See Isabelle Run” by Elizabeth Bloom I put Bloom on my list of authors to look for when I went to a book store. I was pleased when I had a chance to review The Mortician’s Daughter and it was certainly not a disappointment.
