Luz Stella is a beautiful woman from Columbia who is staying in a safe house in Florida. She killed an official in Columbia and now is on the run. While trying to forget her present circumstances she goes to the cruise ship The Starlight Casino. There she runs into Bismark Pacheo from Costa Rico. Both Pacheo and Luz Stella have worked to make the world a better place. Pacheo received some of his training from the CIA. When he notices a CIA agent on the Starlight Casino he leaves Luz Stella to her gambling and goes to the deck to meet the agent but as he steps onto the deck the agent is shot and Pacheo is next in line until Luz Stella approaches from behind and saves his life.
And so they must leave Florida and make their way to Birmingham to seek help from old friend, newspaper reporter and CIA agent Wilson Abut. Along the way they meet Bubba Driver, a mammoth defensive tackle, who now drives a truck and Bubba is impressed with all of the secrecy and excitement happening around Pacheo and “Loose” Stella as Bubba calls her.
Abut talks the two into staying in Birmingham and help sort out some problems there including an anthrax scare and terrorists trying to destroy Dr. Helene Stern’s Health First Clinic.
This is an interesting book with a lot of excitement and some humor thrown in but it is just not the type of book I prefer to read.
