One of my all time favorite authors is Chris Bohjalian. He writes smoothly, and I get engaged in his books quickly. This weekend, I read The Double Bind. After the first 50 pages, I could not put it down. The first 50 pages, he was setting up the book, lots of character introductions, and I wasn't sure, in fact, I was kinda disappointed that I wasn't sucked in, but I trust the author and gave it more time.

Yesterday I read most of the book, and wow, wow, wow. Loads of character development and dialogue, and this is typical for him. His characters and dialogue ring true. He is an amazing researcher on his topics.

I was surprised by the ending, but I had suspected some elements of it 2/3's of the way through. I think this book was though provoking and a little scary in some ways.

Highly recommended.
