Brewer has written about ten mysteries so far, and this is the first I¹ve read. Don¹t know what took me so long. A very funny man.

When two small time but ruthless crooks send a third member, the younger brother of one, to rob a liquor store, things go badly. Needing to escape the police and find medical attention for little brother, they pull into the driveway of a mountain cabin. Inside the cabin is an elderly couple When the fugitives find out that he us a retired bank robber, they get ideas.

Full of interesting characters and plot twists, this story keeps you amused and holds your attention from beginning to a cheerfully satisfying ending. More, please.
