Although it appeared that the man just died when his heart stopped, Detective Tim Rubin has doubts about the natural cause findings. Perhaps, it is his divorce in which his former wife has that same know-it-all smile as the grieving widow squeezing every drop of juice from a certain part of the male anatomy. Everything about this case reads too perfect, but that is Tim's quandary because perfect means no evidence. Still, he vows that one-day, no matter how long it takes, he will insure justice occurs.
Four years later, Seattle stockbroker Dillon Masters' wife Karen separates from him. Stunned, Dillon accommodates her, but warns her that he could find someone else. She tells him not to cross the line or else. However, Dillon's DARKNESS BOUND descent starts when he sees the beautiful dark lady in black leather at Nordstrom. Mentally, he screwed her and made a purchase just to linger longer, staring at her. The mysterious lady haunting his sex dreams calls Dillon, who rapidly is descending rather quickly into a sexual game where the outcome could be anything, including murder, just ask Detective Rubin.
DARKNESS BOUND is an exciting thriller in which sex plays a critical role and is not a sensation-gathering by-product. The plot seems so believable and very frightening with the key players in the game raising the ante to extremes that they hope destroys the competition. Although some readers will want to avoid the darkness and profanity that are intricate to the cleverly crafted and exciting tale, most fans of thrillers will enjoy the book and want more novels like this one from debut author Larry Brooks.
