Pocket Books - a division of Simon & Schuster, 2000, 374 pages

Finding the housekeeper in charge of her husbands castle in France insufferble as well as mourning a miscarriage, Ursula Blanchard rushes to England upon learning her daughter Meg is missing, only to find it a trick by lure her away from her banished husband and back into service to Elizabeth Tudor, who sends her once again as a spy into the home of the Mortimer family plotting against the crown. I found this plot the most believable in the series so far and a fun read. Its little dark and spooky to be called a beach read, perhaps a nice October adventure what with the ghosts in the castle being a major plot point.
