Noelle Blanche is the only person who can decrypt a complicated code for the government. The other four people who could do it were recently assassinated. The only problem is that she has no desire to do so. The brilliant daughter of two brilliant scientists was raised as a pacifist with no love of the government. So when she becomes a target whose only hope is a commando sent to protect her; things get complicated. The fact that said commando named David Wolfe has a tragic past, including a murdered wife, just adds to the drama.

The Storm is a terrorist organization after the same code as the government. They are also the ones targeting brilliant cryptologists. David thought that he destroyed it after they kidnapped, tortured and killed his wife. Now they are after another woman that he is coming to care about and he is determined that this is the last time.

I truly enjoyed the book. Noelle was courageous and David was protective. The ending was a little anticlimactic but didn’t detract from the story much. Ms. Butcher is someone that I would read again and I am looking forward to the sequel.
