Eight months ago, tennis great Frank Giacano asked his wife Sonnie to meet him at the Miami airport. Used to her obeying her philandering spouse’s demands, she leaves their Key West home with the intention of informing him that she wants a divorce. However, something happens and a terrorist group kidnaps Frank. When she learns the news of his abduction, a stunned Sonnie drives too fast and crashes into a wall. They introduce her to former New York police detective Chris Talon. Sonnie begs him to investigate what happened to her, but he refuses. Chris still feels guilt from his last case. However, he cannot resist helping the damsel in distress as her relatives arrive to harass her in the name of love. As Chris becomes hooked, he begins to make inquiries that lead him to conclude that the woman he now loves is either insane or the victim of an elaborate conspiracy from her alleged loved ones.
After reading the romantic suspense thriller, KEY WEST, readers will understand why Stella Cameron is a New York Times best selling author. The story line is action-packed and filled with twists that would satisfy who- done-it lovers. Chris and Sonnie are two wonderful characters, struggling with demons from their past and an unwanted attraction between them. With this tale and FRENCH QUARTER, fans of romantic suspense know that Stella remains in groove.
