Joining a group from their church to tour the Holy Land seemed like an interesting and educational vacation for Greg and Jill McKenzie. Greg is a retired Air Force Investigator with a hot temper. His temper and ill-timed comments at a dinner had put Greg in the position of being at odds with the Metro Nashville Police Department so it was also a prudent time to leave town and let things die down.

When Jill purchased a miniature Dead Scroll jar containing parchment that the peddler insisted contained real Hebrew writing the purchase turned out to be the part of the trip that would pitch both Greg and Jill into a nightmare.

Once they arrived back in the States someone came looking for the jar and its contents and Jill wound up kidnapped. It was up to Greg to get her back since he could not depend on the police.

Greg is set in a trap where if he doesn’t release the scroll he may never see his wife again but if he does release the scroll there is a good possibility that the Arab-Israeli dispute will burst into full-fledged war.
