Although I have read a later written one, it didn't spoil this one for me. Despite the fact Jane is grieving through her recent widowhood and has some surprises in store for her regarding her husband's past, it has plenty of humor, and a lot of the reality of being a single suburban mom raising kids. Her life will feel familiar to many suburban moms, married or single. Not all of us can afford a housecleaner, and if we could, would we want the same one that cleans all our friends houses? Not after reading this little gem we wouldn't.
