For those who wonder what the future may be like on the Internet of only 2010, there is VR [virtual reality] net surfing, with individually
programmable interfaces, Junior High School students that program in C+, and a new kind of "net police". Some of the imagery may take a while to get used to, but as usual, Clancy's writing keeps pulling you into the story.

NET FORCE is a "futuristic thriller" in the same mode as the "OP-CENTER" books, co-written by Steve Pieczenik. If you enjoyed the OP-CENTER books, you will probably enjoy NET FORCE. Clancy's 'multiple stories within a story' are quite evident, but they don't flow quite as smoothly as his other fiction series', including the OP-CENTER books. It's a bit more forced and disjointed, and could have done with some extra editing or writing time.

With the usual 'super-villian' out to conquer some part of the world, NET FORCE is still a good, enjoyable read, but the $7.99 price tag is a bit high.
