When you pick up a novel by Tom Clancy, it's a little like ordering a hamburger at McDonalds; it may not be the best hamburger in the world, but you know what you are getting.

Teeth of the Tiger is no exception. Written in the style Clancy favours, multiple third person , it is well paced, not overly complex, and a pleasant read.

We meet Jack Ryan Jr, scion of the main character from several of Clancy's earlier works. Along with a pair of fraternal twins with a penchant for direct action, and witty cameraderie.

It's not hauté cuisine, but it's not chopped liver either. If you liked The Sum of all Fears, or Executive Orders, then you'll like The Teeth of the Tiger. If you dislike Clancy's earlier work, you won't like this.

On a scale of "Red October" to "Op Center", Teeth of the Tiger definately sits closer to the former, than the latter.
