Little Brown, 2006

This excellent collection contains stories by 19 of today's best- known mystery writers. The stories are all on 'personal' murders - murders involving close, passionate relationships.

Given this premise, it would be easy to assume that all the stories would be rather predictable versions of the eternal triangle, but the originality with which this idea is expressed is a tribute to the skills of the authors.

Among so many excellent stories, it is difficult to pick out favourites. Some, like Ridley Pearson's 'Queeny' and Charles Ardai's 'Home Front' relate poignant tragedies. Others, like Harlan Coben's 'Entrapped' or R.L. Stine's 'Wifey' surprise amusement in the reader with their dark humourous twists.

I highly recommend this collection to any reader.
