Kerry and Terry McAfee are twins. Kerry is a licensed Private Investigator in Beverly Hills. Terry is an operative, if you use the term loosely, who is also an ex-con and ex-junkie. Orphans, the girls have a rich Aunt Reba, who asks them to help out a friend. The results require quite a suspension of disbelief. Visualize Ethyl Mertz with the license and Lucy Arnez with a motorcycle.

A police procedural or even serious who-dun-it, this is NOT. It is, however, one of the craziest, funniest things I have read in quite a while. If there is a way to jump to a wrong conclusion and create improbable scenarios, these girls will find it. If there is a way to get into trouble, Kerry and Terry will undoubtedly be in the middle of it.

That said, I still had a good time with this one. Following the girl's "logic" left me totally bewildered at times, but the book was definitely a fun read and I see potential here for a series. So, evidently, does St. Martin's Press as there is another book in the works, and the Private Eye Writers of America have nominated this book as a finalist for "Best First Private Eye Novel".
