Harley-riding identical twins Kerry and Terry McAfee are in the private eye business. It is a little hard not to recognize them since they ride a hot pink Harley.

Their latest job is to guard Darby Applewhite a/k/a Ephemera, Queen of the Undead. Darby hires the twins to escort her coffin through the annual Venice Goth Parade. Ephemera plans to pop out of her coffin in front of the Dark Arts Gallery as a publicity stunt for the opening of the gallery. She pops out when the coffin opens but she is no longer among the living. Ephemera is dead which brings the Goth Parade to an unexpected ending.

Darby’s parents request that the twins check into their daughter’s death but suddenly they find themselves in a peck of trouble. Their hot pink Harley is doused with blood. Someone sneaks into their home and attacks Terry.

Soon they begin to believe that Darby is not even dead and someone replaced her in the coffin. But who was that someone – another mystery. The investigation leads the twins to many strange places in the Goth world and they match wits with some weird people. They even meet the dentist that makes fangs for vampires to be.

This is a good book for someone who likes some mystery and enjoys humor mixed in.
