Who wants to be Governor of California? It would appear almost everybody from various walks of life including a wrestler, a rap-star, Dick Steel, a front man for a major drug company, and John Black’s sister among others. John Black is an ex P.I. working with his partner Harley. Black and Harley spend most of their time making sure that husband’s pay their child support without a hassle and that children are protected. Harley is no one to mess with and Black has been trained by Harley so you have a pretty lethal combination. Their methods are also very unconventional.

John Black is from a family of politicians and he is not at all fond of the political world. His mother is a senator and his sister is the mayor. John tries to stay as far away as possible.

When it is learned that there is a plan underway to do away with various candidates and narrow down the odds John learns that his sister is the target. This places him right in the midst of the political campaign.

Barry Jones and Dennis Nalen have been hired as hit men to take care of the candidates that are in the way. Barry and Nails as Dennis is called seem to have the ability to screw up everything they touch. The Russian Mafia is involved and is putting a lot of pressure on to get matters wound up.

The One Minute Assassin is full of humor and suspense. I finished the book in record time. I had to see what was going to happen next.
