Class/Genre:   Mystery   Police Procedural

Barry Clayton has given up a job as a policeman to return to the small Appalachian town where he grew up. His father, who runs a funeral home there, is suffering from Alzheimer¹s disease and the family needs his help.

Bodies are common in the funeral business, but not when popping up in an unfamiliar place...atop the casket of a man buried several years earlier. When Barry¹s girlfriend becomes the prime suspect, his cop training must kick in.

De Castrique tells an interesting tale with a nice turn of phrase and subtle humor. Add interesting, authentic characters and you will want to read more. This is the author¹s second novel. I enjoyed it enough to want to seek out the first.
