Six successful women gather once a week for a therapy session. Each woman is seeking something that she cannot quite define. This begins to change when the body of Ginger Pass, a group member, is found outside the fence of the exclusive Palatine Club. Ginger’s death shocks and saddens the whole group.

The members of the group are not satisfied with the answers provided by the police or Ginger’s family and make a pact to find out what really happened to Ginger. Polly Crother is a widow who has become very successful at handling her inheritance. Charlotte DeLong is an attorney. Dinah Milanskaya is a dermatologist. Justine Teyama is a county administrator. Kat Hurley is owner of a health club. Ginger Pass was a homemaker whose husband traveled for business a large percentage of the time. Ginger had become a high-priced call girl to relieve her boredom. Ginger had admitted this to the other members of her group months ago.

This is an amazing story of how five women pool their talents and find the underlying cause of the mystery of Ginger Pass. Three men were involved in the death of Ginger. Three men will suffer because of Ginger’s death. Ginger’s group finds each man’s vulnerability and attacks that vulnerability without mercy.

In avenging Ginger, the women discover things about themselves and their hopes that have remained hidden. The group also finds the courage to make changes in their own lives.

This is a great book; a fast read and the women are ones you would love to have as a friend. This is Susan Diamond’s first novel but I hope it will not be her last. I look forward to another novel by Susan Diamond.
