The book begins with Miss Rosemary Travis and her close friend Dorothy, two elderly residents of Eventide Lodge, calmly discussing and trying to solve the suspicious demise of several previous Lodge residents. When it becomes clear that Rosemary and "Dot" are actually residents of an "old folks home," one tends to discount their wild accusations of murder and mayhem. That is, until it becomes painfully clear that Eventide Lodge is not at all what it seems. Mr. Anderson is a ruthless alcoholic who cares little for the comforts or well being of his charges and allows his sadistic sister, Miss Davis, to terrorize the residents on a daily basis.

When another death occurs at Eventide, will the investigating officer be able to get beyond the sometimes incoherent and sometimes inventive ramblings of the elderly residents in order to arrive at the truth? The answer may surprise you!

Michael Dibdin spins a fine cozy that will keep the reader guessing.
