The groom-to -be drops dead at his bachelor party. Many of the guests were police or deputy sheriffs. Wanda Nell who works at the Kountry Kitchen was a witness, and one cop is leaning on her to name the murderer, even though she can't.

Evans writes a mystery with rich layers not often found in a cozy. Wanda's relationships with her sweetheart Jack, her two daughters and her neighbor Mayrene all add energy to the story. The relationship between her son T J and his significant other Tuck, a lawyer, gives a sensitive look at gays as they are hassled by the same cop who is targeting Wanda Nell.

You will find this an interesting, intelligent and fun read. I'll be looking for Evans again.
