As a result of her earlier adventures, literary detective Thursday Next is now a celebrity. Although the resulting publicity blitz is becoming tiresome, her life is good. She is happily married and is occupied at work with the routine task of investigating forgeries. Of course, this pleasant state of affairs doesn't last very long.

Thursday's adventures are described in a headlong surreal tale of attempted murder and villains; of literary references and living literary characters; of bizarre inventions and the end of all life on earth. This novel works as both fantasy and mystery, and is sure to entertain the reader.
