After a book signing tour, Jessica Fletcher is planning to join her publisher in Mexico. Vaughan and wife Olga have recently bought a house in San Miguel de Allende and have asked Jessica to join them for a short vacation. Because of missed or delayed connections Jessica finds herself barreling through mountain roads in the dark, hoping to avoid banditos and arrive at SMA without harm. It almost works.

Once there she becomes acquainted with Vaughanıs ex-pat friends and the town. But soon Vaughan is kidnapped and Jessica has a mystery to solve.

This book is part travelogue, part ladylike mystery. If you have seen the TV show you wonıt have any trouble recognizing Jessica Fletcher. The plot is interesting enough to hold your attention and gives the reader an unexpected ending. If you liked the TV show you will enjoy this.
