I love this series on TV and in books. I especially enjoy reading the books as I can "see" the main characters in my head from seeing the show on TV so many years. This is a definite cozy set in Cabot Cove, Maine.

This book is set around Halloween. Many strange things are going on in Cabot Cove. Lucas Tremaine has come to town claiming to put people in touch with dead relatives as well as proclaiming curses and evil that will be happening. The old Legend of Cabot Cove comes into play as well.

Matilda Swift has come to town and most of the town feels she is evil and possibly a witch. She is found murdered on Halloween night. Mrs. Fletcher assists Sheriff Metzger in apprehending the responsible party. And she does a great job of it as far as I'm concerned.

I did not know until she told me who had done it or why. I like the way the clues are given out only at the end so you really can't figure it out ahead. These books are a great fast read. Very enjoyable. Can't wait for the next one: Blood on the Vine.
