This book was fascinating. I always wondered exactly what a reeve did in a community. Now I know. Unlike any other book in this series, the entire story takes place in the village near St. Frideswide's. There is a mysterious death in the town. Circumstances require Sister Fidelma to act as the agent for her convent in legal matters. A measles epedemic forces a quarantine so Fidelma cannot return to the convent. In addition to the well crafted mystery plot, the picture of medieval life is a treat.
