Military bases are hard places to grow up. China Lake Naval Air Warfare Center was no different. Try going back for your high school reunion there, against your better judgment and finding out several of your classmates have died young. And they they start dying the weekend of the reunion - in ways that leave no doubt they are being stalked and murdered!

Evan Delaney's dad retired from China Lake. He lives in Florida and her mother lives in San Francisco, but they vacation together yearly. Evan lives in beautiful Santa Barbara. She thinks she knows her parents pretty well. Her father taught her the difference between anger and revenge and how to shoot. Her mother taught her how to deal. Now, the published author and one-time homecoming queen is back in what she considers her hometown and is having a hard time believing what she is seeing and hearing; especially how many members of the graduating class have died in the last 15 years!

Meg Gardiner is a brand new author find for me, but I'm going scouting for all the other books in the series ASAP. This is a beautifully crafted story with the appropriate flash-backs, dry wit, and thrilling suspense I love most. Penguin/Obsidian has found another 'keeper' for me!
