Don't start this book unless you have no other plans for the day. It is impossible to to put down. Gerrison's books are grabbers and this one is no exception. The book raises interesting questions-does evil have a human form? Is evil a spirit passing through in a human body?

There is plenty of action and suspense. There is shifting points of view and time points, which Gerrison handled well. With few words she is able to develop character and atmosphere.

This story is about the survival of Lily who is being pursued by what she believes to be an evil spirit. Murders pile up in her home town and in Italy, all of whom she believes are at the hands of the evil spirit. She doesn't know who to trust so she suspects everyone, and maintains a very low profile. She is on the run at a moment's notice.

Meanwhile, the Mephisto Club is a group of highly educated professionals who hunt down evil in whatever form it takes. The Club is met with great skepticism by Det. Rizzoli but they proof to be an asset in the investigation.

I figured out who was a bad guy early on, but this did not diminsh my enjoyment of the book.
