“God’s Spy” takes us to the Vatican City and Rome where the pope has just died and the cardinals are gathering to create the conclave to choose his successor. But the police find a cardinal murdered and horribly disfigured, and then learn he is not the first. Inspector Paola Dicanti, who is an FBI trained profiler, is assigned to work with the Vatican police to solve the case, with stealth. Then a Catholic priest with mysterious and possible CIA backgrounds arrives to assist also. And the case continues to require urgency as well as utmost secrecy. Many other obstacles are put in Inspector Dicanti’s way as she tries to find the serial killer before too many cardinals die and a pope can be safely chosen.

Fast paced and attention grabbing from the get go! An immensely entertaining and interesting story. The characters are well described and consistent. You really want to keep reading until the very end. Thoroughly good book.
