Edward Gorey was an illustrator, theatre designer, and author until his death in 2000. The subtitle to this book is "Edward Gorey's unique homage to Jane Austen".

Lord Wherewithal meets his demise when a statue falls from a parapet. A stuffed thisby is disemboweled. Why was Miss Underfold seen wearing a hat decorated with black lilies? Why was Victoria Scone dancing the tango with Horace Gollop? The illustrations (black and white) in this beautiful little graphic novel are fascinating. If there is a mystery reader on your Christmas list, this is perfect!
