The title describes the crime scene but could also describe the ride on which this novel takes the reader. As in all the best mysteries, things are seldom what they seem.

John Ceepak lives by a strict code of honor. A former MP he has recently joined the police force in Sea Haven, but brings a bit of personal baggage. He doesnıt like to drive, and is assigned a partner, Danny, who is a part time summer cop. Danny plays Watson to Ceepakıs Sherlock.

A rich man is killed in front of his daughter, and Ceepak is determined to find the person who did this. Setting and most characters are well done here. There is lots of humor in spite of the grim subject, and lots of twists and turns up to the ending which is like an unexpected kick in the gut. Still, I really enjoyed the ride.
