Norman Green is one of the newer names in mystery that is doing well through word of mouth. There’s a reason. Catching up with Mr. Green after last year’s SHOOTING DOCTOR JACK we find him in Brooklyn. It is a pre 9-11 New York beautifully drawn. This tale is a somewhat over the top character study that in the end defines the setting. Think DAY OF THE LOCUST here.

The story? Silvano Iurata has returned to his home town to look into the disappearance of his brother. There’s old baggage waiting for him and new adventure. Walking Montague Street, following in his brother’s footsteps Silvano begins to collect people and clues. At the same time he must avoid his mob cousin Domenic. On a night twenty years ago an unstoppable chain of events occurred that left Dominic swearing blood should Silvano ever return to his home town. This is a story to read with relish.
