Berkley Prime Crime Mystery, Sep 1998, $5.39, 272 pp.
This cozy is a fun, quick read. It is the first in a series. The two main characters are Hannah and Kiki who are sisters in their early sixties. They stumble upon the murder of Kiki's new love interest, Arnold. Hannah helps solve the crime to try to keep Kiki out of jail. It appears Hannah take care of Kiki a lot.
I like this new series. I originally went into it expecting the two sisters to be like Anne George's two sisters. Once I got past that, I was able to sit back, read and enjoy. The characters are all likeable. I was happy to see the author explained near the end of the book some of the issues and things eluded to earlier in the book about the sisters. I hate when you have to wait until another book to fully understand. I had an inkling part way through of who might be involved, but I wasn't positive.
There are two more out in this series and I plan to read them: Date with the Perfect Dead Man (8/99) and Love and the Single Corpse (8/2000).
