Series: Jack Swytek # 6
Harper Collins, 2007
The homeless man who called himself Falcon was threatening to jump off the bridge in Miami. Police negotiator Vincent Paulo is convinced that this time he means it, even though he has threatened twice before.
Paulo was the man who talked him down on those prior occasions, but this is his first try since being blinded in an explosion. Falconšs reluctant lawyer is Jack Swyteck who has appeared in other Grippando novels.
This story starts with a bang and revs up from there. While trying to follow a mystery that involves offshore banks and dark terror in Argentinašs past, Jack and his friend find themselves carjacked, and Theo taken hostage.. Swyteck and Paulo must work around the clock to solve the puzzle and save several innocent people. The tension never lets up.
Grippando does characters well, and in this story his depiction of the problems of a newly blind man in a sighted world is outstanding. The story has new surprises at every turn. If you have never read Grippando before, this book will make you a fan.
