Fire Water
Sally Gunning
Class/Genre:   Mystery   Amateur Sleuth
Series: Peter Bartholomew # 10
...

Sally Gunning writes a series featuring an iconoclastic fellow named Peter Bartholomew. He runs an odd job outfit that hires odd employees. The whole setup is gentle misfit and makes an excellent platform for delving into people's lives and peccadilloes.

Fire Water, from Pocket Star Mysteries, is the ninth ion the series. It's set on the mystical Cape Hook and concerns murder and mystery from both distant and recent past. As you might imagine, rum running in the twenties is part of the mix. This is a neat, well written novel that should appeal to anybody who likes interesting characters, good writing, pace and clean resolution.
