Honey Laird receives a pleading email from her best friend, Poppy. Poppy is worried about her ex-husband Andrew, a former SAS officer who is recovering from a head injury. When Honey visits Andrew she discovers that he is longing for a dog to take care of and train. Honey makes a deal with Poppy to buy him a dog and since Honey’s Labrador is almost perfect in Honey’s opinion she takes Andrew to view some Labs. Andrew is not at all interested and has his mind set on Springer Spaniels and before the shopping is done Andrew winds up with two puppies.

Honey receives a call from her friend Hazel Carpenter inviting Honey and her husband to a shoot. Honey manages to get Andrew and his dogs included. All goes well at the shot and Andrew has proved to be a good trainer.

Shortly after arriving home from the shoot Honey receives a call from Jackie Fulsom’s, Andrew’s new companion. Jackie is hysterical and asks Honey to come at once. It seems the two spaniels have been stolen and Andrew is beside himself. While Honey tries to send out inquiries regarding the stolen dogs it is discovered that a member of the shooting party, Henry Colebrook, has failed to return home.

Are the two matters connected? What will Honey be able to accomplish regarding the missing dogs and the missing man? Pick up a copy of Cold Relations to get the answers to these questions.
